What does this mean?
Well, it means we don’t pay minimum wage – we pay a living wage.
Currently, the minimum wage in Ontario is $16.55, and the living wage in our area is $20.70 – however, the Living Wage is going up 9.9% this year. The living wage is calculated on a few things including if the employee has benefits, which our staff do!
We provide our staff with a Health Benefits package and pay half the premiums for them.
Behn and I feel strongly that paying a Living Wage and providing Benefits is an important part of running our company. We believe happy and healthy staff are part of what makes a strong foundation for our company to be successful!
